Who Dat?

Some of you are going to Blissdom this weekend. I, on the other hand, am gearing up for Super Bowl Sunday! And I don't even like football...shhhhh, don't tell. This morning I had fun snapping some pics of my sister's mantle all gussied for the big event. They are big football fans at their house.....and I do mean BIG! My brother-in-law pretty much eats, breathes, and dreams sports.....especially football.

In honor of our Saints going to the Super Bowl, she decided to go with a Saints/ Louisiana/Mardi Gras theme for the big day. I cut the Fleur de lis and the "who dat" in vinyl with my cricut and we put it directly onto the mantel front. It will peel right off when she's ready to take it down.

The helmet and old football are my favorite accessories on the mantel. The apothecary jars full of mardi gras beads are cute too, though!

Festive and fun, yet still chic with the glass jars and monogram.

Can I just tell you how gorgeous this house is? I couldn't resist snapping some extra pics of all the lovely details while I was there. She was at work and had left a note asking me to shop her house and fix her mantel. Well, it didn't need my help..it was already perfect. So, instead I took advantage and helped myself to her house! Hope you don't mind, Jen.

I have way more to share, but I think I'll save that for another post. A house tour is in order. These last two pictures are just a teaser. Even her doors are fabulous. And I do mean every single door in the house. They are huge and gorgeous.....this is her back door, by the way.

Even the door leading to the piddly half bath is fantastic. I love these doors. Dare I say.....I covet them? And the brick floor...hello, gorgeous! Be sure and check back for the rest of the tour. I promise.....it will not disappoint. And Jen, don't stress on me. I only took flattering pics!

That vinyl is too cute and funny! I love it! I have no interest in football, but that makes me want to take an interest!

Her house looks so cute. You SHOULD do a house tour. I am sure it is all so pretty!

XOXO

It is an amazing time to be a Saints Fan! I wish I had thought to use my Cricut like that. Maybe they have black vinyl at Michaels - I'll have to check on my way home today! Thanks for the idea!!!

We don't watch sports at our house. My hubby would rather mow the grass. HA! Now if we go to our friend's house he will watch with them.
We prefer to watch our son play them! He plays baseball and football. He loves football so I have had to learn the game!
I must say I do love the mantel. You girls did a great job. Have a great weekend. The Twins

Luv the SAINTS/MARDI GRAS mantel! I'm a huge college football fan...go to most of our home games and this year went to the bowl game. I don't follow NFL too much but when I do...the SAINTS are my team! I'm very happy that they have made it to the SUPER BOWL...GOOOOO SAINTS!

Blessings,
Linda

What fun! And you're right: how are the girls at BlissDom going to get everything ready for the Super Bowl?

We're Colts fans--big Colts fans--so we won't be rooting for the Saints this Sunday. But we were excited that they finally got to go to the Super Bowl. We were pulling for them over the Vikings.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I love it! Who Dat! I guess I didn't really figure anyone decorated for the Super Bowl like this. It's awesome though. The doors are to die for. Really. I noticed the brick floor before I even read what you typed. Gorgeous.

Her house is beautiful! I want to know if she put the shelves on the side of the fireplace or if they were already there? We have a fireplace with nothing on the sides of it and that is exactly what I want to put up. I just wanted to know if she did it herself, how she did it or where she bought it? You can send me an email if you have time. Thanks!!!

It's too bad your sister did all that decorating for Super Bowl when the Colts are going to win. ; ) Love that back door! Can't wait to see a little more.

I like the commercials. ;) I don't hate football, and I'll even watch some of the game, but I'm not really into either team...so commercials for me.

The mantel looks fab!! I love that old football. :) Your sister's home is just gorgeous.

I like football, but since my team didn't get past the playoffs, I guess I'll root for the Saints too. My hubby really likes Drew Brees.

That mantle is too cute! I'm gonna have to work on saving some $$ for one of the Cricut thingees. You're making me covet one of those!

AND I'm totally with ya on the brick floors and gorgeous doors. I can't wait to see more! Are the fleur di lis just for the game or are some of them up all the time (by the back door, I mean)? Can't wait to see more!

I am a door freak too! Her doors are beautiful but the brick floor was the first thing I noticed. Gorgeous! We are a huge football family too so I totally understand the decor:)

Have a fun football party.

That is SO COOL! I've had my eye on those circuit things... I know I probably spelled that wrong.. the thing that cuts the cool stuff.

I love it! Your Etsy shop looks awesome too! You can email me with details on what you wanted to make bigger. I'm sure it's no problem. Looks great though!

Oh.. and I love that door! The one with the four panes of glass on the top 2/3. Cool! Tim

Finally someone posts Jenns work- I have been checking her blog for months to see this house. Love the mantle. Love the fam. Thanks so much for the great baseball party ideas! I have been working like crazy to duplicate lots of them. Over the top is what I need! hope you are doing great down there.

What an adorable idea! I wish I'd have thought to spruce the place up for our Super Bowl party. Instead, I'm opening my craft room/studio to all the non-football-fans of the bunch and hosting a simultaneous Craft-o-Rama so those of us that don't "get" football can zone out in front of a Cricut and a sewing machine instead. Hopefully it gives some of the wives a reprieve from the screaming menfolk! :)

Thanks for sharing the pics -- love the mantle!

Are all of her doors wood colored and the trim white? If so, can you go rush over and snap photos?

My house is 90 years old and the doors/trim are all painted white, but the paint on the doors is coming off. I want to scrape it all off and leave the trim white but the husband isn't sure how it'd look and I can't find photos to show him :(
