Remember all those empty apothecary jars I had laying around? I finally filled them. I'm not sure about this. It is very minimalist for me. Am I a minimalist? I think I need more stuff up there. What do ya'll think? I love getting your input and hearing all your wonderfully inspired ideas!

I'm looking at your painted brick. I have fugly brick on my fireplace-did you just slap some tan semigloss up or was it more involved?
Thanks!
i just bought three new apothacary jars, my first, and i have no idea what to do with them. i'll keep watching this for ideas!
I like it..love the lemons but is there some fruit that could give it a little more of a twist, something just a little funky..limes maybe?
What about sand stones, river rocks or something with some texture. Pine cones?
Or a new/old twist crinkle up old "yellowed" newspaper/magazine with vintage items like old keys, photos kind of tucked in. Organized chaos. Give it that vintage feel.
I do like the lemons though, they pop with the bright color!
Happy Monday. :)
Hey girlfriend! I think it looks great. Very balanced. Love the whole mantel too. I think my hubby would cry if I painted ours, but I'm always very tempted.
I think the lemons look great! They scream spring to me! They add great color too!
P.S. I borrowed your Target V-Day card idea and I will post it later this week! Thanks again for the idea!
I love the lemons in the jars. My mantle isn't as 'nice and tidy'.
I just can't get rid of stuff! LOL
Yours looks wonderful!
Love the lemons! And I think less is more in this case! It looks wonderful.
I have some as well and can't figure out what to add...without the ornaments, it seems so bland. It looks great but since I am not a minimalist, I probably put too much stuff up on mine. :)
I love your style...And you are so inspiring! Hi, My name is Meme from Screaming Meme...I wanted to personally invite you to a blog I started called Project: {Create A Home}....I started it to bring creative and inspiring women together to help each other reach for our dreams and learn to be the best women we can be....in 2009! I hope to see you there...if you want to contribute as a writer...Let me know! :) And I still have Screaming Meme...It is going to be a DIY 2009 year over there! I look forward to getting to know you! Meme
I think the lemons look cute, but maybe a bit too symmetrical (spelling?) It's like there's a jar and then two little things on both sides....that would drive me crazy! Maybe try them both on the same side and put one on your stacked books or something so they aren't at the same height. Who am I to talk though? I change mine constantly ;)
I love the lemons, they bring the pop of color that we all crave this time of year. I saw that bird at Target also, it is SO cute, I'm now sorry that I passed it up.
I like the Lemons, its very springy. There is something missing though, I just can't put my finger on it. Let me think on it and if I figure it out I will pop back over here. :)
I think the arrangement of your mantel and the lemons look great! If you aren't happy with them, what about some green apples?
I like the lemons but I think I might shelve them until spring...they are bright and maybe you're looking for something with a more wintry but bright look.
Hmmm...maybe some apples or pomegranets? I like the way your use old books in the mix!
I love the lemons--they look very springy! :) I have some for my apothecary jars but I'm not quite ready to put them out yet. I do like the lemons better than the earthy stuff. They're a nice fresh pop of color.

I'm loving the lemons!
I like the lemons--they really pop on your mantle. The birdies are adorable!
