Ha! Just when you thought my mantle couldn't get any more fou-fou...I add more fluff! Last year, I fell in love with this meshy stuff and used it everywhere I could possibly drape it. It adds the perfect touch of whimsy to almost anything. Especially a plain jane, tired old garland. And it's very easy to work with...you cannot mess it up, I promise. Just pouf and fluff and mold it to the shape you want...and voila, it's fabulous!
I love it all glittered up and sparkling at night...so pretty.
I also added some metal candy canes I got on our anniversary trip to Fairhope, Alabama last year...
And a cute little lime green metal present in the middle! And ribbon...of course...you can't have too much ribbon.
My tree may not be decorated yet, but it does have a fabulously fluffy bow on top. I can never get a star to stay on my tree, so this year I used my mesh to create a simple topper. That is, if you can call a ginormous fou fou meshy bow...simple? Whatever it is, I LOVE it!

Love it! Looks really great! :) I wish I could make a bow like that for my tree!
Whimsical is exactly how I would describe it. I love it. Thanks for sharing your fab ideas so that people like me can copy! I could never come up with this on my own. ;)
Looks great! I love the colors. I'm gonna have to get some of that ribbon!

Your mantle is so FESTIVE and FUN! I love the whimsy.
As always, I love it! Been wanting to change my Christmas look from navy blue... to whimsical red & green. But with the darn recession, I can only do bits and pieces and not the whole thing!
Any tips on how to get the fabulous bow topper? I need one for my tree!!
Oooh, I love it...it's soooo colorful! That metal candy cane is a cutie...Fairhope is across the bay from me...I had a booth there when I had my antiques business...great little shopping town!
Blessings,
Linda
Don't worry, you're not alone with the night time photos issue! I ran around this morning before leaving for the day job, because the sun was out and I wanted to try and get at least a few decent photos. Are we ever done fluffing? I know I'm moving things around all the time and not sure if I like where something is. That's the good thing about taking the pictures though, you get a better look at how everything appears through the pictures!
Looks great! I love that mesh stuff!
What a cute mantle! I just love the whimsical feel. My mantle is so sad, probably because I keep pulling stuff off of it to decorate somewhere else in the house! Love the garland idea!
So pretty! We have a fireplace, but no mantle. I wish we had one!
and I thought your mantel couldn't get any better! I love that mesh ribbon stuff too, saw it the other days at Michael's and now I know I need to pick some up! and those metal candy canes are adorable, so jealous of you!

I want some of that ribbon!!! I have the mesh draped on everything that will stand still too!!! Love it!!! Where did that ribbon come from????? Love your decorations!!
Oh, your mantle is an absolute delight. I wish I had a mantle to decorate. I may have to resort to the window sill this year.

Lookin good!
Fou fou and fun and gloriously colorful!
One of the reasons I love you is because your Christmas decorations are red and green. And I know that you love black and white other neutrals, but the red and green come out for Christmas.
Of course, that's just ONE of the reasons I love you. :)
Oh... it is adorable!! It is beautiful all lit up like that! :)
Beautiful, whimsical and FUN!
No, you can never have to much ribbon...I agree wholeheartedly. If I had a mantel, I'd totally want it to look like yours. ;) Love the frou frou!
Another fab idea! Looks good girlie!

PS - I have some ideas, I will email you tonight hopefully :)
It looks wonderful both in the dark and during the daylight. Great job! www.satisfiedsole.com
I love it! Our mantles are very similar this year. I did more whimsy in the family room, and used some of that same deco poly mesh. Mine is striped, and I would love to have about 4 more rolls, but alas I got it on a trip and can't find it around here.
