Thrifty Treasures...My $8 Loot

Thanks to Ms. Southern Hospitality herself, Rhoda, for hosting this fun weekly event. I absolutely love sharing my fun finds and treasures, and in return seeing all the wonderful things other people find along the way.
Sooooo...let the sharing begin!

Black open toe wedges by Mossimo (like new)...$1

"S" measures just under 20 inches (as in almost 2 feet tall huge)...$2

Vintage aqua blue travel bag (just like my mom used to carry)...50 cents

Brand new (in box) Crate and Barrel Christmas plates...$1

Ahhhhh...I could die, I love these little cuties so much! Their whimsical flair will go perfectly with my fun Christmas decor. Speaking of which...am I the only weirdo who is already thinking and dreaming of decorating for the holidays? Yes, I am fully aware that it is only July.

My sister got me this vintage santa soap dish...ADORABLE!

(2) 18 x 20 black frames with print and custom mattes...$1 each
(1) 20 x 24 framed print (new from Kirkland's with 29.99 price tag)...$1

I'm telling ya...shopping yard sales has totally spoiled me. I will never pay regular store prices for a frame ever again! I have accumulated quite a collection of large black frames for my picture wall/hallway. I cannot wait to put them all together. My plan is to use all black and white prints with all shapes and sizes of black frames to unify the space. I am excited to see it all come together. I think it will be beautiful!

What did y'all find while out thifting this weekend? If'd you'd like to join in on the party, be sure and visit Ms. Rhoda's place. I just read her post and I am totally hating on her right now. She scored her second vintage fan in working condition. Hate her! Actually...LOVE her...she is fabulous! Now...go check it out, and tell her I said HEY!

HO HO HO love your bargains, Those Xmas plates are just too cute. Yup, I'm shopping already.... what is wrong w/me? LOL Means I won't be rushing in 6 months, I guess. Black frames will work anywhere, so why not collect all sizes to paint? Smart girl...

Wish I could have gone yardsaling (is that a word?) with you this weekend! I love that big "S." And those C & B plates? Those look like they were made for you! Way to go!

Mandi Shandi said...

Seriously? I have got to make yardsaling more of a priority! We usually spend our weekends at the river, but if I'm missing out on this kind of stuff I may have to change my schedule. That S is fantastic!

I did the same thing for a picture wall up my stairs and I love it! My hubby loves to look at all of our black and white pictures, and the variety of frames keeps it from looking too forced.

I also love how the piano bench turned out! Very nice!!

Those Christmas plates are so cute and whimsical, and I love that vintage Santa soap dish! I'm enjoying finding vintage Xmas things at garage sales, but I don't want it to be Christmas yet! I'm still enjoying the unseasonably cool summer we're having! Great finds!

I am a little (okay, a lot) jealous of your finds. Those Mossimo shoes are cute!!! :) Love the vintage bag---will you use it as a carry on, or for something else?

Amy Lynne said...

I am so with you, I can't do retail anymore. My hubby says I ruined him, hehehe! You found some great deals!

You scored! I know what you mean, it's hard paying full price for anything after finding great things at yard sales, thrift shops or goodwill.

It is so addicting isn't it?

Great finds, as always!!! I love the plates - I have coordinating ones that have the ornaments on them from Crate & Barrel. I will have to try to get my thrifting post up soon... still need to take pictures.

I’m loving the loot! You’re not the only one thinking Christmas. All Christmas items at Goodwill are 25% off so I’ve been staking up when I find things. I found a few things this week but have not posted yet. Anywho I love the plates and the frames are a steal!

Is there ever a bad time to purchase christmas items? When I go to the DI-my two favorite sections are halloween and christmas. Love them!!! My christmas and halloween piles of decor in the storage are mounting. But-the best part-when you pull it out in october, you have forgotten what cute things you picked up in July-LOVE IT!! I love the "S" What a great find. Some people just don't know what they are throwing away! Yea for us!

Love all of your finds! The S, the christmas plates, the frames! Awesome deals!

Pam Walter said...

WOW! Only $2 for that big S! Your yard sales are much better than ours. Of course, it's 115 degrees here now, so outdoor bargain hunting will have to wait for a while. :o) www.satisfiedsole.com
