Weekend Thrifting

First of all, let me say thank you to Ms. Rhoda for hosting this weekly link up. I love to share my thrifty finds, and even more I love to see what other's have scored on their thrifting adventures. With that being said...let the sharing begin!

I got a late start yesterday because I overslept (ooohhhh, it felt so good). Even though I didn't make it out till almost 10 am, I still scored some goodies. The large swirly green fabric in the background was 25 cents. I think it's almost a yard. I am so excited because it coordinates perfectly with my girls' room. I wish I had more because I want to use it for pillows, valances, bulletin boards, and more. Oh well, I can make do with what I got! The two small white shelves were $1 for both. They were black in a previous life and then painted white. Absolutely perfect conditions for when I started sanding and distressing them. I think I'll add a little stain to age them a bit more. The gold starburst mirror was $2. I LOVE it. Do you think it would be as cute painted white? That's my plan, but I'm open for suggestions. I know it's a bit small, but in a grouping I think it will shine! I have always wanted one of those big beautiful starbursts with the mirrored rays. Maybe one day I'll hit the motherload and find one while thrifting...a girl can dream, right?

This chippy bucket was only $1. I am already using it on my desk to hold a notebook, pens, and various whatnots.

See that price tag on the bottom? Marshall's $12.99 (compare at 20.00)

SCORE for 1 measly dollar!

What wonderfully fabulous treasures did you score this weekend?

Were you able to coordinate with Emily about the giveaway?

That's the best thing about yard sales..you never know what you are going to score..I'm sure you will find your big sunburst mirror but in the meantime your little one is adorable! Cute bucket too...

The mirror is so cute, and that fabric will be great in your girls' room. I love how you always have a plan for what you will do with things before you even buy them. You are one smart cookie!

Oh and the mirror is too cool
I look forward to seeing what you plan to do with it all!

ooooo! Cute fabric! Where will you put the little shelves? That starburst is so cute! I think white would be nice. :) Score on the bucket. I almost picked up another tin bucket thing like that on Sat., but opted for no since I wasn't sure where I'd put it and my sis-in-law didn't want it either. Oh well....You did good for going out at 10!! ;)

Score! I love the little mirror, and before you even said it I was thinking it would look awesome white!

I am so jealous of your green fabric. I have been looking for something similar for my playroom!

You did score! I love that bucket! And I do think the sun would be just as cute white. Probably even better!

Cool finds....I LOVE the fabric AND the bucket. You could make the fabric stretch somewhat...if you made pillows using a solid white for the underside or a coordinating fabric. :)

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I think the mirror is cute just the way it is. whew, that was hard, I just recommended NOT painting something! :)

Oh, great stuff! I love when something is only a dollar. At Goodwill I found a glass container for a dollar, and when I went to pay I found out it was 1/2 price day for that color tag! WHOO HOO! Exciting! :-)

I own that mirror - in a pewter color. It made me smile to see it among your "finds." :)

Great scores, Amanda! I use to have that swirly mirror, exactly like it, from a long ago yardsale. I think painted white would be great. You scored on all of those treasures, thanks for joining my party.

When you add the stain to the shelves will you do an instructional post? I would love to learn the technique. I have tried doing it just on what I think I should do and have failed miserably!!
