The Shark Steam Mop and The Swiffer Sweeper Vac...a Winning Combination!

Before I tell ya'll how wonderful my steam mop is, I first need to toot the horn of a long time companion of mine...the Swiffer Sweeper Vac. I cannot say it enough. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! I got this one almost 2 and a half years ago when we bought this house, and it is still going strong. After only a few days living here I could already tell the dust and dirt build-up would be a problem on a daily basis. Almost every square foot of space in my house is a flat surface...tile and pergo. There are only 2 rooms with carpet, which is nice, but also means I have to dust ALOT. I really didn't want to spend $25-$30 on something that may or may not be worth, but it was sooooooooooo worth every single penny. I drove my hubby crazy the first few weeks I had it. I literally used it 3-4 times a day. I was obsessed. I'm still obsessed with it, but I absolutely do not use it 3 or 4 times a day anymore. Thank goodness for that. I would recommend this product to anyone with flat surface floors. It is awesome. And you can find $5 coupons at swiffer.com

Ok....the moment you've all been waiting for. I finally took the Shark out of the box and used it. I know, I know...it only took me 2 weeks...I'm a slacker and I HATE to mop. It was very easy to put together and very easy to use. It made my mopping experience much less painful! And I can already tell you that I will be mopping more often now that I have the Shark (anything is better than twice a year, right?).

I really expected the pad to be much dirtier than this after using it in the kitchen, great room, 2 bathrooms, and ....

...this hallway.
Actually, this weird & very long hallway was one of the things we all loved about this house when we found it. It is the perfect space to have sleeping bag races, sock skating, the Indy 500 for hot wheels, and nerf gun target practice. When we first came to look at this house with our realtor I envisioned my children doing all of these things and more...in THIS hallway. It is perfect. And a little weird...and we love it! Now I can show it just how much I love it by keeping it just a bit cleaner. Thank you Shark Steam Mop...thank you!

Glad you like your new mop! I've been thinking of trying the Swiffer vac for my tile... I sweep my entry a couple times a day!

Hmmm, sounds like I *need* one now! Can you use the Shark on hardwood? How much are they? Any coupons? Sorry for so many questions! Thanks for replying if you have time.

Jennifer, I am commenting here because I didn't see a blog link for you. I got my Shark at Target for 79.99. They also sell it at Sears and sometimes Sams Club. I don't know of any coupons for it, but I wish I did. The user manual says that you can use it on hardwood, but I've heard mixed reviews on that from several people. Some say it leaves streaks, but I didn't have that problem. I used it on my laminate wood floors and it was great, but they are not polished, so that may be why. I don't know. I hope I answered all your questions. Let me know if you have any more.

Yay! I'm so glad you love your new fun toy!

Thanks for the sweet comments on my blog!

It was over 80 degrees today, so no...I did not wear the snuggie. Now had it been a cold day...absolutely, I would have been rocking the snuggie while mopping.

I have a steam mop and I love it, too! The steam cleans well and dries quickly, so you don't have to wait forever to walk on your floor!

Hey girl! I love that Swiffer too, but I am so gonna get a Shark steam mop. Isn't it funny how we see the possibilities of the quirks that might turn another buyer away. Nothing like a good challenge. By the way, how is the crafting going?

I don't have the swifter sweeper, but I have the shark and love it. Now you have me thinking I need the sweeper...

ok-now I HAVE to go to Target. My 10 yr. anniversary is in 10 days-I am so asking for a shark. I have pergo floor in my kitchen, dining and front entry. IT DRIVES ME FREAKING CRAZY! It is never clean enough for me. My husband just rolls his eyes and walks away. He is such a punk!!!
I have always wondered about these-if they really were as cool as they seemed on TV-thanks for the review.
I will do a review. I will go and buy a few different kind of easter candy and let you know which one tastes better!!!
I am only thinking of you!!!
I sent out your pkg today. Better late than never right? You will forgive me for my slackerness right?
I have been making VT kits so much this past week-I am pretty sure that I could make them in my sleep.

Thanks for the recommendation! I am an old fashioned mop and vacuum girl. Maybe I need to get more modern and purchase one of those gadgets!

Have a great day!

I also have the Swiffer sweeper, and it is great for cat fur. I think I am going to have to look into getting the Shark. I hate to mop the floor, and it might just be the answer to my problem. Thanks so much for the report.

So glad you're enjoying your "gift"!
I would love one of those Shark thingies, we have lots of tile floors too.

Jodee Leader said...

You convinced me! I am running right out and buying both! I have wood floors which rarely get cleaned! I need the shark bad!

Sarah @ Thrifty Decor Chick said...

Have you used it on your Pergo? We have dark floors and that's what I couldn't stand -- streaks!! But I am a freak, as you know. Anyone else would never notice them!! :) So glad you like it!!

Man, a girl takes a week off, and what does she miss?? YOU ARE STARTING A STORE!!!

YAY!!

Go Amanda, GO GO Amanda!

And I am glad you love your mop. I ordered a steam vac this week. We have all carpet. We got all new carpet when we moved in, but it makes me cringe now, only a year later. And so, steam vac to the rescue! I can't wait. Its ridiculous the things we now get excited about as adults. =)

Happy for you!
Megan

I am so glad you like the Shark. =) It is a keeper! Thanks for sharing about the Swiffer Sweeper Vac. I need something like that. I have alot of non-carpet areas in my house that I think it would help me out alot.

How did the craft show go? I LOVE everything you showed that you took to it. If I would have attended I would have bought you out! =)

Great review ;) I too fight lots of dust bunnies because of all the wood floors in my house. And my hallway is also a race track :)

I've had fun on my first visit today! I'll have to look into that swiffer vac. I have lots of hard surfaces in my home too. Speaking of...the tile in your family room looks like my kitchen tile...shape of a brick with rusty tones? I love mine and have never seen it anywhere before. My home is 30 yrs old and the tile is original.

Oooh, glad to know it's a hit! I have all hard wood and tile downstairs so this might help me out a LOT!!!

We've just moved in here in Washington a few months ago, and we're still shopping around for the best all-around cleaners. One of our neighbors mentioned an excellent Seattle carpet cleaner that really does the cleaning job well. As with the floor, we'll go check out the Swiffer Sweeper Vacuum that you mentioned here. Thanks for posting!
