Personalize Your Pumpkins

Ok, here is all you need for a quick and easy project to get you in the mood for Fall...

An assortment of scrapbooking rub on letters or stickers...

And some dollar store pumpkins begging to be painted white.

I literally painted these with my finger last year because I couldn't find a brush. It was most likely the middle of the night, so I improvised. I used regular old craft paint and went to town finger painting. I will admit it was slightly fun and addicting...and I ended up painting an entire bag of mini pumpkins too!

I used clear stickers and rub on letters to monogram my cutie white pumpkins and tied a little bow on top. The perfect touch of whimsy to my spooky Halloween decor (which I cannot wait to show you, but am resisting for a few more weeks).

These polka dot pumpkins started out as the orange ones from the dollar store too. Yes, I painted them with my finger...including the dots. The tip of your finger makes a perfect polka dot, by the way.

And just in case you were wondering where I disappeared to last week...let me show you a bit of what I was up to. The blocks above are just a sampling of what I was and am still working on!

In addition, I am in charge of a craft night at my church this weekend called Fab Friday. It is going to be loads of fun, but I will be able to breathe better when it's over. Thank goodness I have a fabulous committee who are my right and left hand! Seriously, I couldn't do it without them....do you hear me Michelle? 8 different crafts, holiday food demonstrations, and dinner for 50 plus people? Yes...thank heavens for committees. Anyway,I will try and do better this week with my posting. I was a major slacker last week. Thanks for sticking with me even when I don't deserve it.

I LOVE Y'ALL!!!

I laughed when I read the part about using your finger because you couldn't find a brush. That is SO something I'd do when hit with inspiration. . . I'm not one to patiently wait to carry out a project the "correct" way.

Great idea to paint the pumpkins to match your room!

I just KNEW you'd be doing something cute with your pumpkins. I have the same colored rub-on monograms. I think some monograming needs to be done to some of my little punkin pies.

Giiiiirrrrlllll...I want to hear more about that crafty thing going on at your church. Please take some photos and tell us all about it!

Oh, and p.s. .... I just loved seeing the giant stack of wood. All I could think was "I could do so many wonderful things with that pile!" :)

Love the idea of the stickers and rub-ons, Amanda! I've been putting off buying pumpkins because I thought they were a bit too much at the craft store, but never thought of the Dollar store. I'll have to head over there. The polka dot ones are cute and I can't believe you used your finger!

I love it! I've been looking for white pumpkins. Didn't even think of buying Dollar Tree ones and painting them. Awesome!

(Gasping) 'Manda, they are all beautiful!!! I (heart) the monogrammed ones. :) Today is the first day of preschool, so I can say with some assurance that I might be able to make it through a trip to The Dollar Tree with only one child. :)

My goodness, Amanda! You have been busy! Good for you!

Thank you for showing us your pumpkins from last year. Last fall was "before my time" in the blogging world, so while this project may be something you've shown before, I've never seen it! How fun!

Take care!
Love,
Richella

Okay, I admit it...I've been lurking for a little while now...I love your blog, but for some reason I've always been a little too shy to comment. I don't know why. I've added your blog to my blogroll...I hope you don't mind. Feel free to stop by if you want.

I LOVE those white pumpkins! They are so stinkin adorable! I think I am going to have to get my booty down to the dollar store asap!

CUTE pumpkins! Did you really fingerpaint them? That's hilarious!

Don't worry about slacking-- I have hardly even done any blogreading lately! Life has had other plans! Here's to getting back in the swing of things!

And those holiday blocks-- making me feel all Christmasy! :)

Have a great weekend!

Amanda - I have been following you faithfully for the past many months and LOVE it all! I am the Enrichment Counselor in our ward here in Hershey, PA and have Super Saturday in 10 hours and counting . . . I'll be up all night doing last minute stuff I'm sure! I have no doubt you know what I mean :) Anyway, PLEASE share what you are doing with all the boards. My M-I-L just asked me to send her ideas of what to do in her ward for Super Saturday as well (she's also the HFPE counselor and very crafty). I would love to pass on a couple of FABULOUS ideas as I know that's what you have :) I hope things are going well for you tonight!
