Quick Before & After Project

I bought this at Hobby Lobby a while back. It was 1.99 (90% off). I'm not really sure what it's intended purpose was, but I knew I could do something with it. I bought an unfinished wood letter for 1.99, painted it black, sanded the edges, then used wood glue to adhere it. I don't have any wood clamps, so I used a big stack of books to weigh it down while it dried overnight. Yeah, I'm classy like that. Btw, I told my husband that I want some pink tools for my birthday next month. He laughed. Apparently, he thought I was kidding. Nope...totally serious! I must be getting old and boring because I'm also wishing for a Shark steam mop. I know...sad.

So, what do ya'll think? I love how it turned out. Now all I need to do is get some more white plates to surround it and the wall will be complete. For a grand total of $3.98, I think it's fabulous...cheap, yet chic!

  2. I love that, I wish I had a HL close by! If you get tired with the black, you could paint the "S" red or apple green or sage green...really anything, everything goes with black and white!

I need more plates in my life, too, they're so versatile!

    Looks great!

  3. BEEYEWTEEFULL!! Don't you just love Hobby Lobby clearance? I cleaned them out when I was in TN.
About the Shark steam mop, my girlfriend has one and it is to.die.for. It was on my Christmas list but my hubby said that was not a very fun gift so I got a dayspa certificate instead. I would have loved it though!

  4. Very pretty! Love it!! We don't have a HL nearby us either but I really wish we did. I agree w/ Bella Casa too about painting the letter a different color if you get bored with the black. I was thinking pink would be pretty too!!

  21. So cute, Amanda! I LOVE anything argylish and black and white - my new blog background is exactly that. And having the background behind the S is so much more exciting than a plain old letter on your wall!
